Motorpool Website Assigned Group Definitions.

Each group can give you a clear idea on group roles, responsibilities, limitations, and also issues you might be experiencing while assigned to a specific group.

Validating Group

  • The validation phase. In order to become a member, you need to validate your account by checking your email account that you used as part of the registration process.
  • You can view some areas but will not have access to majority features of the site.
  • I validated my account but my account isn't active or assigned to another member group. Most likely your account wasn't approved because it wasn't created from a known military installation using a known IP address.
  • Warning! All unvalidated accounts are automatically deleted in 8 days. Ensure to validate your account buy checking your email.

  • A Member is assigned to the Member Group.
  • Limited access to downloads and other features.
  • Bandwidth is limited to increase website performance.
  • Can't download files until at least 5 replies and/or appropriate posts are met.
  • A new member with a non-.mil email address is automatically assigned to this group.
  • * Note: Posting unnecessary or unrelated posts can get you banned from the site and also be marked as a spammer.
  • Members are encouraged to share thier knowledge with other members by means of forum collaboration.

  • The Banned Group. You have been banned from the site and you will need to contact an Administer to resolve your account.
  • Being banned as result to automatic detection of our security system.
  • Majority of military installations use a shared IP address and often identified as a false banned decision by our system in order to prevent misuse and/or a security breach possible attempt.
MotorPool Group

  • A member assigned to the Motor Pool Group.
  • Members registering with a .mil address are automatically assigned to the Motor Pool Group.
  • Unlimited access to forums, features and downloads.
  • Members are periodically monitored for download abuse in comparison to site contribution and can be assigned to the Member Group at any given time to increase website performance.
  • Members are highly encouraged to share thier knowledge with other members by means of forum collaboration.
Moderator Group

  • The Moderator Group is part of the staff. The moderator has the duty to manage the day-to-day affairs of a forum or board as it applies to the stream of user contributions and interactions. The relative effectiveness of this user management directly impacts the quality of a forum in general, its appeal, and its usefulness as a community of interrelated users.
  • Ensures to identify and report inappropriate member actions.
  • Ensures posts are assigned to the correct forum category sections.
  • Provides ideas and site recommendations to the Admin group.

  • The Administrator is part of the staff and is assigned to the admin group and is responsible to maintain the website with security updates, site improvements, approval of accounts and website content management system software updates.
  • As such, they may promote (and demote) members to/from moderators, manage the rules, create sections and sub-sections, as well as perform any database operations (database backup etc.). Administrators often also act as moderators. Administrators may also make forum-wide announcements, or change the appearance (known as the skin) of a forum.
